I've found taking a hot shower right before bed helps. The cooling of your body temperature makes your body think it's getting ready to sleep, as that's what happens when we fall asleep.
Also, I make sure to stay in the darkness and just lie in bed; sometimes I'll turn on a fan for white noise or even use my white noise app on my phone to drown out my thoughts. Just focus in the noise, or even your breathing, and nothing else, and you will eventually drift to sleep.
